New Indiana Net Metering Rules:

The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission has listened to public comment and proposed more equitable net metering rules. Below is a list of some of the most significant changes. Click here to read a full copy of the edited rules.

1. The maximum system size is now 1MW (was 10kW).
2. The power source can be any renewable source (not just wind or solar).
3. An energy credit of up to 200kWhs can roll forward indefinitely until the user no longer participates in the program at which time the credit goes back to the utility.
4. The total amount of utility power coming from customer generated renewable energy sources is being increased from 0.1% to 1%.
