Learn More About Renewable Energy:1. Sustainable Energy - without the hot air by David J.C. MacKay This is a fantastic ebook which explains renewable energy concepts in a very straight forward way. If you don't know where to begin, start with this. It is an informative and entertaining read.
2. Indiana Renewable Energy Resources Study Produced by Purdue University This is a great resource for people in search of detailed information regarding renewable energy potential.
3. How to Read Your Power Meter (File formats: pdf or xls). Produced by SIREN This easy tutorial will show you how to read your power meter, and give you a chart to help you keep track of your daily energy budget. The Microsoft Excel version of this file (xls format) has built in formulas that will help you track how well you are sticking to your energy budget.
4. Was the Energy Tax Act of 1978 effective? This is a summary of studies evaluating the efficacy of tax incentives for residential investment in conservation and renewable energy.

8. 2008 Residential Bill Survey: Jurisdictional Electric Utilities July 1, 2008 Billing Commission Staff presents a survey of electric utility billings for residential customers served under Indiana state rate-setting jurisdiction.
9. MIT Researchers make energy storage breakthrough This story from www.sciencedaily.com describes how researchers have found a new way to store solar energy by mimicking plants.
10. http://www.epa.gov/cleanenergy/energy-and-you/how-clean.html by the EPA This is an incredible resource that illustrates how much pollution is generated by your electricity provider. Just type in your zip code to see what sources of electricity are used by your utility and how much pollution is generated by those sources.
11. http://www.indianalivinggreen. A website devoted to environmental and conservation issues in Indiana. Their Living Green magazine is available at Bloomingfoods.
12. http://www.sustainableenergycoalition.org/ A website focused on renewable/sustainable energy topics.
13. http://www.in.gov/oed/2376.htm Check out the Alternative Power and Energy grant (APE) and the Energy Project Feasibility Study grant. The former is for small demonstration projects and the latter is to help produce feasibility studies for renewable energy projects. These two grants are NOT for residential applications. The Geothermal Heat Pump Rebate is for residences.

15. The Carbon-Free Home: 36 Remodeling Projects to Help Kick the Fossil-Fuel Habit by Stephen and Rebekah Hren This is an exciting and practical book.
16. Elements of a Sustainable Solar City by Solar America Cities. This excellent document profiles ways to foster solar communities. A third of the document is devoted to financial incentives, which is of interest to much of our group. Many projects have been on our list serve before, but some are new. This is a good summary and outline of initiatives and innovative projects. In particular, see page 17 regarding low-interest loan programs in Ashland, OR and Aspen, CO. These cities are close in size to Bloomington.
17. Energy Efficiency Video By Jeff and Heater Barrie This is nice short video with some great energy saving tips.
